Across the world, all political parties are favoring Liberalization, Modernization, Globalization, and Privatization, encouraging Innovations and patronizing various quarters to thrive. Their endeavors confuse us sometimes, as the consequences of their efforts are not substantial to make a dent on majority and there are ample elements of doubts about their pragmatism. Actually, what they really want may not rendered with adequate clarity to us. Despite, there are lengthy discourses regarding reformation and liberalization, but in practice, all states are one or the other way, serving the interests of some selective groups, who are enabling them to reach to the corridor of power. Eventually, the control and hegemony of state is evident in every affair, regarding the administrative mechanism, how it is being carried away to administer a country. A continuous prying in disguise of monitoring on enterprises are restricting or effecting the growth of any nation. There is always a tendency to retain bureaucracy in the veil of welfare notion, where interests of working people, peasantry class, middle class etc. are needed to be Immune. Markets have no liberty literally to proliferate. In some country outsourcing are encouraged, in other countries, it is being restricted. ‘Globalization’ itself appears a conundrum to us!
There is a clarion call that, ’corporate’ should play a crucial role, where accountability towards society should be reflected. But, in reality, there is no such autonomy given to the ‘corporate’, where they could truly carryout their responsibility. Consequently, it is paving the way for corporate to acquire or hanker to attain state power, where there is every possibility of abuse or miss-use of power too.
We ourselves too, having an inherent tendency to resort to state, use it as an instrument to satiate our own interests. We love to be encapsulated by the state. Even, the inherent unrestrained orgy of us being reflected, when we vicariously enjoy the death sentence or any harsh form of punishment, being rendered by the law of any concern land. The repressive tool of state mechanism being criticized every now and then, but, somehow we approve its pertinence and persistence.
The true evil is perhaps lying with the gulf we construe, in terms of our expression and exercise. A political party may express in their manifesto, what they want, but, when they emerge in the state power, there is clear apathy from their end to execute their objectives they enunciated. There it appears, a continuous effort to keep balance by trying to satisfy people from all quarters, and inevitably they become biased with certain groups, surrendering their own liberty, and making the terminology ‘Liberalization’, a fallacy!
We have hardly noticed a statesman, who can make a positive stride to break the jinx. There are number of statesmen, who are exceptionally good orators. Their striking personality and leadership qualities might have influenced a lot, but, unless they set an axiom by making promise and keeping it literally, they cannot become someone, larger than life. Invariably, we notice, they are favoring certain groups or peoples interests, ignoring the interests of his own mandate, resulting a cascade effect towards the available social, political and economic structure, where a group of beneficiary emerges, enabling him to retain in the corridor of power, to ensure their own interests.
Thus, Liberty is being the worst victim of such fatal phenomena and enslaving themselves with the habits being inculcated since long time and on. It is hard to extricate from traditional dogmas, which always hinder for the overall growth of any nation. If one may lose the interests of the conviction and promise he may aspired for, there cannot be any sensible and dramatic change. Beneficiaries should be the majority and the reflections of the dreams and perceptions of the majority could be corroborated in an available structure, finding the utterances’ of the majority and ensuring prosperity to the mankind as a whole only ensure the success of a true statesman. But, unfortunately, we are moving spirally and thus, our aspiration is becoming a distant goal to us.
